DIGITAL RIVER MICROSOFT WINDOWS 8 SOFTWARE
Now that Microsoft's software recovery site is the only place for me to apparently legally get an ISO, I'm basically going to have to look to torrents or something instead, because Microsoft's tool doesn't like MSDN or OEM keys. Of course, I got the ISO from Digital River back then which is no longer an option. This very key activated just fine on the laptop that just bit the dust back in July. Just because it doesn't spit out the ISO doesn't mean it isn't a valid key: I've had multiple support people tell me that the key I had was valid but since it's from MSDN (well, technically, I guess MSDNAA, but it's still from MSDN), no one but MSDN support could really do much. I wonder if it would activate now? Any opinions?
DIGITAL RIVER MICROSOFT WINDOWS 8 PRO
What's interesting, though, is that I fresh installed Win 7 Pro 64 on that Thinkpad with an iso that I downloaded from Digital River, about a year ago. I put in the key for a Lenovo Thinkpad and it failed. MSDN, OEM, or anything else apparently give you that error message (kind of essentially making that site useless, IMO). On the software recovery site the only keys that work are retail keys. Is there anywhere to get the ISO legally or am I going to have to go rely on torrents? Please assure your product key is for a product supported by this site and was entered correctly, then try your request again."Įverywhere I'm reading basically says that a couple months ago Digital River took down their ISOs so Microsoft's now the only place to get them.

I get the error message "We encountered a problem with the validation request.

I know you can get the ISO from Microsoft, but they don't recognize the license key as being valid so they won't give me the ISO. I swear I have a DVD or flash drive with the ISO installed on it- naturally, I can't find either now. No offense to Windows 8, as I have it on a tablet, but I just much prefer Windows 7. However, I would like to put that copy of Win 7 Pro on this laptop.

That laptop is now basically a paperweight, and I have bought a new Toshiba Satellite laptop with Windows 8.1 on it. Follow him at /suzukamo.Okay, so I had a copy of Windows 7 Pro from MSDN that I had put on my laptop, over the Win 7 HP that was on there. Leslie Brooks Suzukamo can be reached at 65. Shares of Digital River were down 3.6 percent after-hours at $14.20, after Ronning’s move and the earnings were announced. Ronning, a serious sailing enthusiast, has two daughters and is interested in working outside of business in “the arts and other things,” Madison said. “He wants to go sailing, spend more time with his family and do other things,” Madison said. Madison, the interim CEO, said Ronning’s resignation was a mutual decision with the board that they had been discussing and planning for two to three years. The e-retailer operates the online store for Microsoft Windows. The company is working on transforming its many services so they can be sold to some clients “a la carte,” instead of as a package, said Donnelly, who is an internal candidate for the chief executive position.ĭigital River also hopes that Microsoft’s launch last week of its Windows 8 operating system will propel sales, he said. “Like many companies, we continue to have concerns about overall softness, particularly in Europe,” Digital River Chief Operating Officer Tom Donnelly told analysts Thursday. The company, which this year lost some clients to competitors, is worried about economic storm clouds on the horizon. The company said it expects fourth-quarter revenue to be between $96 million and $100 million, slightly below the $101.6 million expected by analysts polled by Thomson Reuters.ĭigital River said it expects fourth-quarter earnings, not counting certain items, of 25 cents to 31 cents per share, far from the 37 cents a share expected by analysts on the same basis.
